Company Info

Multinational Companies in the Building and Wood Industries play an important role.

They are rich and  powerful. They are able to influence industry standards and governments.

As global players they shape working conditions in our sectors,   down the sub contracting chain and up the production chain.

Some MNCs build up a global industrial relationship with BWI by signing International Framework Agreements. These MNCs commit themselves to apply internationally recognised labour standards worldwide in their businesses.

Other MNCs in our sectors do not like to sign agreements with trade unions on national and / or global level. They pretend to do good business practices. But who knows?

Anyway BWI and it’s member unions have to monitor them. We have to know what they do and how they behave in their activities and countries.

Let’s take away the curtain of secrecy. Let’s create transparency. BWI Company Monitor invites you to contribute to a better monitoring of MNCs in our sectors. Tell us your stories and share your experiences and knowledge with your  colleagues in the building and wood industries around the globe.
