Plant Manager, Ken Brown, at today’s mandatory Communication meeting for Swedwood workers told workers that their wages could go down if they voted in the union. He also told workers that those who were opposed to the union or didn’t care needed to vote. It would only be fair, he said.
Fair is keeping management out of the union election process. By invoking his power as plant manager Ken Brown sent a clear message that he opposes the union and that if the union comes in wages could go down. This type of intimidation and interference makes a mockery of IKEA pledge of neutrality and its GFA with BWI.
